Tumblebug will shortly unveil their nimble, scalable, pyrolysis system with energy recovery for transforming organic wastes into biochar and Carbon Offset Removal Credits.
Our proprietary technology, designed and built in the UK, prevents the carbon stored in the organic wastes from being emitted into the atmosphere and instead locks it away in a carbon-rich biochar to be used in our tried and tested growing medium and fertiliser trials, to enrich your soil. Efficient recovery and cleaning of gases delivers thermal energy for heating and drying with clean emissions.

Biochar products
Biochar is a carbon-rich substance made from processing organic material in an oxygen-limited environment – this process of pyrolysis is at the heart of our technology. Biochar is highly regarded for its ability to lock carbon into the soil for hundreds or even thousands of years.
Biochar's porous nature helps retain water and nutrients at the root zone, making them more available to plants. This not only enhances plant growth but also decreases the need for chemical fertilizers, encouraging a more natural and regenerative approach to agriculture. Biochar can also provide a very cost-effective solution to effluent spills and discharges.

Munshrooms and more
Tumblebug have pioneered a circular mushroom farming opportunity. Using spent coffee grounds, compostable packaging, and other organic waste streams, you can set up your own Tumblebug gourmet mushroom farm featuring Ecobot pasteurisation technology. Working in partnership with Urban Fam-It we provide the build and consultancy to get you going with your own mushroom business.
Once the mushrooms have been harvested, turn your spent substrate into biochar pellets. - generating Carbon Offset Removal Credits and thermal energy as well as biochar for soil amendment and tasty mushrooms!
